Manage Devices

Devices represent the physical devices that collect data directly from the sensors. Devices are automatically imported to the platform during Data Logger setup.

Distinct streams of collected data are represented by Channels and every device can have multiple Channels. To simplify integration of similar devices, platform-wide Device Types and Channel Types are introduced and associated with each Device and Channel.

To manage your Devices, Device Types, Channels and Channel Types select Devices from the Platform Management menu.

Enabling and disabling data monitoring#

To enable or disable data monitoring for every device channel:

Select the Devices option on the Device Management menu

Select the Channels option for that device and then using the toggle switch.

On the confirmation dialogue popup you can choose to enable channels of this type for all of your devices.

Managing Device Types#

You can manage your Device Types by selecting the Device Types option from the Device Management Menu.

Make sure you define a category for that device type, in order to be able to display data charts in user dashboards, for devices of this type.

Managing Channel Types#

You can manage your Channel Types for every Device Type by selecting the Channel Types option from Device Type.
